Sarah Stubbe has been a resident of Crested Butte since 1999, after a few years in West Virginia and attending the University of Florida previous to that. Her love of the mountains and skiing stems solely from her adult life and now consumes her throughout the year. Her hope in serving as co-President for the CB Snowsports Foundation is to advocate for and increase access to snow sports for all in the Gunnison valley, and to continue to promote this healthy lifestyle for kids of all ages and backgrounds.
Her son, Henry, is a constant inspiration and reminder that our mountain lifestyle is one to be celebrated and respected every day.
Sarah's role as Practice Administrator for Gunnison Valley Orthopedics and the GVH Specialty Clinics keeps her busy throughout the week, and she is also an active Board member and founder of the GO Initiative, another local non-profit. In any spare time she can find, she enjoys chasing Henry on his skis and mountain bike, and spending as much time as possible with her incredible friends and family.
I have lived in the Gunnison Valley since 1997 when I came to attend Western State College (University now). This valley captured my heart and I never left. My husband Bobby is the Maintenance Manager for Mt. Crested Butte and has taught skiing in Crested Butte for 24 years! We have two amazing children who are avid skiers just like us-maybe more so!
I am the Math Specialist/Interventionist at Crested Butte Elementary School. I have taught at the school for 23 years and I still love it! My passions are my family, teaching and skiing. I recently got brave and started playing hockey- I am pretty terrible, but I have a blast trying!
I am passionate about snowsports and this passion led me to be a part of the CBSF to help more kids have access to snow sports. Growing up in Bailey, I loved skiing but it was a chore for my family to get me to the slopes. They always managed to scrounge up 40$ to get me to Breckenridge on Saturdays for our ski team practices-it was a big ask as money was tight. I am forever grateful that they did this for me. I want to pay it forward and help to get any kid that wants to participate in a snowsport out there!
Dig the 80’s vibe? Scott first set ski to snow in Crested Butte in the 1985/86 ski season. Being a regular visitor to CB in both winter and summer led he and his wife to living full time in Crested Butte in 2019, just in time for a worldwide pandemic.
Professionally, Scott worked 20+ years in the management consulting industry, both nationally and internationally. He also started two non-profits, served on city council in two different cities and finished his career in Crested Butte working for Toad Property Management, managing 23 of their 45 HOA’s.
Scott was drawn to working with the Crested Butte Snow Sports foundation after his son Paden passed away after a short battle with cancer. Paden was a ski instructor for the Mountain Adventures and Cruisers youth programs and loved working with those kids as much as they loved him. CBSF is honored to continue Paden’s legacy of helping the Gunnison Valley youth learn to ski through the Paden Castles Kelley Memorial Scholarship.

His career has spanned decades leading marketing teams at some of the top mountain resort brands, Sugarbush Resort, Vermont; Okemo Mountain Resort, Vermont; Squaw Valley (now Palisades Tahoe), California and most recently, Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
Scott believes in a brand-first approach to marketing. Get that right, and the rest falls into place. He thrives on bringing brands to life and creating tribal loyalty.
Scott lives in Crested Butte South where he serves on the POA board, and the RE1J District Accountability Committee. He is also a board member of SnoCountry, Inc. In his free time he enjoys skiing, camping, fishing, and mountain bike riding.
I'm passionate about all things mountains and adventure. After spending 10 years in Boulder, my husband and I made the move to the
mountains to raise our family in an active, outdoor-driven community. Our two toddlers are already obsessed with every snow sport they can get their hands on. We love being part of the Crested Butte community, surrounded by others who share our passions.
Professionally, I juggle life as a Project Manager for a tech company while also helping my husband run our family’s business ventures,
including our pet sitting company. My involvement with the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation comes from my deep love for snow sports and my drive to help the next generation chase their passion for skiing while making a lasting impact in our community.
I was born in Germany and moved to Connecticut at the age of one, where I was raised. I later attended Colorado College and, after spending my final year there visiting Crested Butte regularly, decided to relocate permanently. Currently, I work as an elementary school counselor and am the mother of a six-year-old son who shares my love for skiing.
I currently work as the elementary school counselor at Crested Butte Community School, where I work with students in grades K-5. I focus on helping students develop essential social and emotional skills, fostering confidence, empathy, and kindness as they grow into well-rounded individuals."
Living in a mountain town provides a unique opportunity for children to engage in various snow sports. However, skiing and snowboarding can be costly, and it’s unfortunate that some children miss out on the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of their surroundings due to financial barriers. I believe it is important to offer all children the opportunity to experience and appreciate winter activities, ensuring that everyone has the chance to enjoy the snow in a variety of ways.

Captivated by the mountains and the vibrant outdoor community, she knew she had found her home. With a degree in Ski Resort Management and Marketing, Erica has now spent over 15 years building a life and career in the valley, combining her professional expertise with a deep love for snowsports.
After leading the marketing team at the local ski resort, Erica launched a successful marketing and communications consulting firm, empowering local businesses to tell their stories and grow their impact. Her strategic insight and community-driven approach made her a natural fit to lead the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF) during a critical turning point.
Four years ago, Erica took the helm as Executive Director, guiding CBSF into a new era of growth, innovation, and service. Under her leadership, the organization has flourished—expanding programs, deepening community partnerships, and reaching more youth than ever before.
A mother of two young skiers, Erica brings her personal passion to her professional mission. “I’ve skied since I could walk,” she says. “Sharing that joy with my kids is incredible—but helping kids across our community experience the magic of snow, who might not otherwise have the chance, is even more meaningful. We’re building access, community, and lifelong memories—and we’re just getting started.”
The Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation is seeking dedicated board and committee members to help guide our mission and expand our impact in the Gunnison Valley.
