Our Mission
At the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation, we believe every child in the Gunnison Valley deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and growth that snowsports offer. Our mission is to empower local youth by providing financial support for snowsports programming, ensuring that more kids can get on snow and thrive.
Our Impact
Through scholarships and funding, CBSF supports programs like Crested Butte Nordic, Ski for PE, and Cranor Hill's free Wednesdays. In recent years, we've expanded our scholarship offerings from just a handful to nearly 70 annually, reflecting our commitment to making snowsports accessible to all local youth. This year, we supported over 500 local youth.

You can help us empower more youth in the Gunnison Valley to experience snowsports. Our programming serves the entire Gunnison Valley and a multitude of ages. Now with the addition of support for Cranor Hill Free Wednesdays in Gunnison, we serve all ages of the community!
1. Create Equal Access to the Mountains
Your donation helps level the playing field by providing scholarships to local youth who might not otherwise afford gear, lessons, or program fees.
2. Support Local Kids, Right Here in the Gunnison Valley
Every dollar stays in the community—supporting Crested Butte kids through partnerships with local schools, coaches, and ski programs.
3. Preserve a Deeply Rooted Snowsports Tradition
Crested Butte’s history is inseparable from its snow-covered peaks. Your support keeps that legacy alive by fostering the next generation of skiers, riders, and Nordic athletes.
4. Fuel Lifelong Confidence, Discipline, and Joy
Snowsports teach more than technique—they build resilience, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Your gift helps instill these values early.
5. Maximize Your Impact Through a Trusted Local Nonprofit
With low overhead and deep community connections, CBSF ensures your donation goes directly to where it matters most—getting kids on snow and keeping them there.
